THE CITYSCAPE OF VIJAYAWADA

I felt awfully dull to drive to the backwoods of our Vijayawada city this Sunday.

The aftereffect of posting a 2600 word long article, my Saturday blog, the previous night had driven me nuts mentally. So I opted “How about roam along the highway” for a while. I adjusted all my photography gadgets in the back seat; I tripped into the early morning rain-drenched day.

The proof of evolving Vijayawada as a smart green capital is evident in and around the city. The periphery is brimming with high-end construction activity.

As I slowly drove on the highway for about 20 minutes, I pulled over, on the outskirts, and found a safe place for parking and to adjust my tripod. I allowed my eyes to roam taking in the distant proud mountains on one side of highway and concrete structures popping up on the other side. It was quite distressing for a nature lover like me.

I watched the lush green carpeted hills and plowed fields. And not far away from them, close by, the spread of onslaught of soaring concrete structures. I wondered “it wouldn’t be long before the virginity of these green fields openly molested.” Today I enjoyed the sounds of birds and dear smell the fresh air. But I fear how soon I’m going to miss them….
